We were commissioned to manufacture and supply the structural steel modules for the Castle Grotto – 13 modules in all ranging from standard cube shapes through to semi-circular shaped modules.
Our skilled workforce, using a range of steel from heavy ‘H’ beams through to heavy duty box section and in addition with some modules clad in galvanised sheet steel, each module was manufactured to specification, under close scrutiny from our client, creating the Grotto’s main body.
Our expertise in specialist sheet metal fabrication and “State of the Art” machinery (Our HD CNC Flat Bed Plasma Cutter) prompted KD Decoratives to request the manufacture and supply of various sized brackets for the structural connections within the castle and eventually for lifting of the modules for transportation.
When the construction of each module was complete KD Decoratives collected them from our workshop. Each module weighed between 1.5 tonne and 5 tonnes with specialist vehicles and lifting equipment required to carry out the transportation process. When the modules reached the KD Decoratives site, less than a mile away from our workshop, the creative decoration was completed. This is when the Castle came to life!
